Duck Rillettes is a creamy, rustic spread traditionally prepared by seasoning duck legs to cook them ‘confit style’ by braising in aromatic stock. The slow cooking process allows the duck meat to become succulent and tender, and is then shredded and mixed with duck fat to create a simple, sophisticated, irresistible spread.
Duck Rillettes should be brought to just below room temperature before serving on toasted bread, sandwiches, or hors d’œuvres. Fluff lightly with a fork to distribute fat evenly for easier spreading.
Pairs well with cornichons, artisanal cheese, and wine.
Store in fridge or freezer. For best taste, use within 3-5 days of purchase and/or by the expiration date on the package.
